Why it Matters: The Hardship Fund plays a vital role in providing financial assistance to union members and their families during difficult times, including strikes, layoffs, furloughs, and unforeseen catastrophic events. Your support ensures that we can continue offering essential aid for necessities like utilities, rent, and food.
Event Highlights: We are shaking things up this year with a Bocce Ball Tournament and BBQ prepared and served by the UA 159. This will be an opportunity for union families and friends of labor to come together for a day of community for a friendly competition, eat, have fun, and most importantly join in solidarity to support union workers!
What is Bocce Ball?:
Bocce ball is a leisurely yet competitive game played on a smooth, level court. Players (four per team) take turns rolling balls towards a smaller target ball called the pallino, aiming to get their balls closest to it. The game combines strategy, precision, and a relaxed social atmosphere, making it popular for players of all ages and skill levels.
How You Can Help: We invite you to participate in our fundraising efforts through sponsorship. Your generous contribution will not only make a significant impact but also showcase your organization’s role in our community.
Donate: Although your donation is not tax deductible we hope you consider contributing to the Hardship Fund knowing that 100% of your contribution will be used to help union members and their families.
